About Us

GeoSoul was created by Jimmy and Melinda Talarico who live in Bozeman, Montana. As an artist, Jimmy has committed years to exploring ways of preserving beautiful, personal events and the memories of our loved ones by creating abstract, mixed-media, heirloom-quality, custom art pieces. He has had the good fortune of working on multiple commissions for individuals and families across the country. After seeing firsthand the deep connection his clients have had with his work, he determined to find a way to make his art more accessible to anyone who wanted this experience. An unfortunate event became the catalyst for the solution.
During the summer of 2023, Melinda’s father, John E. Maze unexpectedly passed away. About a year later, our family gathered at John’s requested location in the Beartooth Mountains to say goodbye. It was sad, and beautiful, and memorable. Jimmy recalled looking at the rocks near this location, picking up a small handful, and putting them in his pocket. He thought, “I bet I could use these to make something for our family in the future.” He also took photos of the location and marked its coordinates on the map on his phone so it could later be shared with other family members who may want to visit that site to spend time with John. Weeks passed and Jimmy remembered waking up one morning with the idea of creating a token for Melinda and their two kids using the stones and the coordinates. This would be a way for his family to always know where John was so it would be easy to revisit in the future. He also thought it would be a beautiful experience if future children, grandchildren, great grandchildren came across these tokens. They would see the coordinates and realize a moment significant enough to memorialize took place here, and it would remain a part of our generational history.

A few months after the tokens were shared, Melinda recalled a moment when she was getting ready to leave our house to watch our daughter in a local shooting competition. She heard a voice say, “I’d like to watch her shoot today.” And when she grabbed the token to take with her, she felt a peace that confirmed her suspicions; John wanted to watch his granddaughter participate in the sport she loves. The token provided a touchpoint between Melinda and her dad and helped her feel connected with his memory and presence. If this was her experience, maybe others would be able to have their own experiences reconnecting with loved ones. Jimmy had to make this idea available for everyone. And so the GeoSoul Token was created.

GeoSoul: Love, grounded.
Because memories, and their locations, matter.
That’s the story of our family’s first Token of Love. What will be yours?
